United Bank of Africa (UBA) Ekiti State University branch, hosted a one-week open-air event last week and it attracted a huge, passionate following by students despite the hot sun.
Mastered by two interesting MCs, Prof and Primate, the event includes various competitions and talents were displayed. Amongst these were two rap talents: one, Aliu Eniola, is going to be our next Nicki Minaj, being a female rapper; and the other, Babatunde Damilola, being a guy, will probably follow after the steps of the likes of Jay Dreamz who are indigenous rappers that we love.
After the were announced as the winners for the rap contest on Friday, an eksuites.com correspondent walked up to them and asked a few questions.
And apart from the fact that they are both born in June, one thing they have in common is that this is the first public performance they have ever had. Although they’ve been rapping at home and in friend’s birthday, they have never faced crowd of such size in any event of that kind until last week.
And they won.

Aliu Eniola, who keeps to her first name even on stage as Eniola, is a rapper from the department of Accounting, faculty of Management Science, Ekiti State University.
She came into prominence in EKSU when she emerged as the unopposed winner (female) of a rap contest held during a one-week open-air parade organized by UBA in 2015.
Eniola started rapping during her JAMB preparation days in 2014. Then, she only raps for her friends after coaching. The UBA event was her first public performance and the contest was the first rap contest she partook in.
Eniola revealed during the event that she is joining 1505 management and with the help of the management will record her first, and possibly, subsequent tracks and album.
